Propylene glycol fumaric acid-ethylne glycol copolymer - Introduction
1,2-Ethylene glycol and (2E)-2-butenedioic acid and 1,2-propylene glycol polymer is a common polyester material, commonly known as polyethylene glycol -2, 2-dimethylmalonate or PBT. The following is a description of the nature, use, preparation and safety information of the polymer:
Nature:
1. Polyethylene glycol -2, 2-dimethylmalonate has good mechanical properties, including high strength and rigidity;
2. Its melting point is high, adjustable in the range of 140-230 degrees Celsius;
3. Polyethylene glycol -2,2-dimethyl malonate has good heat resistance and weather resistance;
4. It also has good chemical stability, electrical insulation properties and low moisture absorption.
Use:
Polyethylene glycol -2, 2-dimethylmalonate has a wide range of applications, including:
1. Electronic field: used in the manufacture of electronic devices, cable insulation materials and electronic housings;
2. Automotive industry: used for auto parts, body parts, lamp shades, etc;
3. Packaging Industry: used for food packaging, pharmaceutical packaging and industrial packaging;
4. Textile industry: used in the manufacture of textiles, fibers and synthetic fibers.
Preparation Method:
The preparation of polyethylene glycol -2,2-dimethyl malonate is generally achieved by transesterification. First, 1,2-ethylene glycol and (2E)-2-butenedioic acid are subjected to an esterification reaction in the presence of a catalyst to obtain dimethyl oxalate. Then, using dimethyl acetate and 1,2-propylene glycol as raw materials, polyethylene glycol -2,2-dimethyl malonate is obtained through transesterification reaction.
Safety Information:
1,2-Ethylene glycol and (2E)-2-butenedioic acid are some common chemicals, and attention should be paid to safe operation. Avoid contact with skin and eyes, if contact should be promptly washed with water. In addition, since polyethylene glycol -2, 2-dimethylmalonate is a high molecular polymer, it is generally stable and harmless under normal use conditions. However, during processing, harmful gases and particles may be generated. Therefore, appropriate ventilation and personal protective measures should be taken during operation. For specific safety operations, please refer to the relevant safety data sheet.
